BACON BOURBON PECAN BRITTLE

Ingredients

  • 6 slices Fryingpan Bacon, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped
  • 1 tbsp bourbon
  • 2 tsp baking soda

Directions

  1. Line baking sheet with parchment. Fry bacon, reserving 2 tbsp drippings.
  2. In a skillet, combine syrup, water, sugar, butter, salt, and bacon fat. Simmer until 290°F.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in pecans, bacon, and bourbon. Add baking soda and mix briefly.
  4. Pour mixture onto the lined pan and spread. Chill in freezer.
  5. Once firm, break the brittle into pieces.
